Belong Wherever You Are
I’ve lived and worked on three continents and have always adapted to each new country, embracing the culture and becoming part of the community, yet, I always remained South African at heart. While attending the University of Pretoria for my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration majoring in human resource management and political science, South Africa’s apartheid system fell. It was a thrilling time of change for my country, which reflected my beliefs to always see a person for who they are and respect them regardless of race, color or background.
After university, I worked in sales at an engineering company before going on a solo adventure to explore the world. At 26, I moved to the United Kingdom and made London my new home. I built my corporate career in business development, investment banking and financial services. I worked for several global corporations, including GE Commercial Financial Services, New Star/Henderson Global Investments, and Kellogg Brown and Root Limited. I gained experience in negotiation, creating winning proposals, hone my financial skills and work as part of a team. One of my assignments sent me to Afghanistan, where my company had a contract to manage the operations of the military base at Kandahar Airfield. Seeing the soldiers leave for patrol stuck with me and made me realize how precious life is and that it needs to be cherished and lived to the fullest.
I met my husband, Karl, while living in London, where we began our life together. Through his job, we moved to the San Francisco Peninsula in 2014 – a dream come true. I fell in love with San Carlos’ scenic hills, neighborly downtown and the area’s relaxed lifestyle. Karl encouraged me to combine my love of the Peninsula with my holistic view of business to become a real estate consultant. In my work, I cover all aspects of residential real estate. I help first time home buyers get into the market, growing families find larger properties, seniors downsize, newcomers relocate and investors establish cash flow. My previous career experience has provided me with the negotiation, financial and people skills necessary for success in real estate. I listen to my clients’ needs, assess their reactions as we visit properties together and go to bat for them when they are ready to purchase.
Along with my fulfilling work in real estate helping people find a physical sense of belonging, I also have a passion for helping women discover belonging in their careers and within their bodies. As director of the San Mateo chapter of Polka Dot Powerhouse, an international networking organization for women, I connect women with the support they need to actualize their dreams. As a competitive triathlete, I aim to inspire ALL women that anything is possible when you are passionate about it! In becoming a certified personal trainer I inspire women to gain body confidence and to become the best version of themselves!
If I can help someone adapt to a new home, further their career, or help someone step into themselves with confidence, then I’ve made an instrumental difference in their lives, and that is my passion!
